DESCRIPTION

Everbuild Black Jack 908 DPM is an odourless rubber-enriched bitumen emulsion which provides a highly effective sandwich dampproof membrane for floors. Also acts as a waterproofer for walls, above ground structures and foundations. DPM is also suitable as an adhesive for wood block and mosaic panels, insulation boards, expanded polystyrene, cork and as a plaster bonding agent, even on difficult surfaces.

USES

• Providing sandwich damp-proof membranes for floors.
• General waterproofing: - for use on concrete, fibre/cement, render, plaster etc.
• For waterproofing structures such as bridge abutments, retaining walls and culverts. 
• For fixing wood blocks and wooden mosaic flooring.
• As a bonding agent for plastering difficult substrates such as glazed tiles. 
• For fixing insulation boards, expanded polystyrene and cork slabs.
• As a curing agent for concrete.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

STIR WELL BEFORE USE. The product is brown in colour but dries black. Before applying, ensure all surfaces are clean, touch dry (free from excess water), sound and free from any contaminants, which may affect adhesion. Base concrete must be finished off with a wooden float to give a smooth surface. Tamped surfaces are not suitable owing to the difficulty of ensuring adequate coating over the high spots. Prime porous surfaces with EVERBUILD BLACK JACK 908 D.P.M. diluted 1:6 with tempered (+10°C) water and allow to dry. All phases of the installation should comply with BS Code of Practice 102: 1973 - protection of Buildings from the Ground/Section 3.

LIMITATIONS

• Do not apply when rain is imminent.
• Protect from rain and frost until cured (the coating may be assumed to be dry when rubbing with a wet finger does not produce a brown stain).
• Do not use in areas where subsequent solvent contact is likely.
• Allow sufficient drying time between coats. 
• Stir well before use.
• The product may bleed through any paints subsequently applied over it.
• Apply a primer recommended by the paint manufacturer before overpainting. 
• This product will not provide a replacement for a DPC. Ideally, it should be used in conjunction with one. 
• Gloss paints and other oil or alkyd based paints must not be used directly over a surface treated with EVERBUILD BLACK JACK 908 D.P.M.
