Product Description

Blue Acoustic/Sound is a gypsum based plasterboard with a high density core to help block out unwanted noise (acoustics) and also improve fire resistance. Noise affects the way we all work, play and relax, whether it's causing stress or reducing productivity. This acoustic plasterboard range makes spaces quieter to help occupants enjoy them as much as possible.

This plasterboard can be used in partitions & ceilings to achieve specified sound insulation levels through walls, ceilings and floors

This plasterboard can be used in partitions and ceilings to achieve the acoustic performance required in domestic separating walls, corridors, ceilings etc. It is also suitable for use in commercial areas such as offices and shopping centres.

Please note this product is NOT suitable for moist or wet conditions and should not be used where temperatures exceed 52ºC

FIXING

Fix the board with the decorative side facing outwards to receive finishes. Install fixings at least 13mm from cut edges and 10mm from bound edges. Position cut edges at internal angles wherever possible. Stagger horizontal and vertical joints between layers by at least 600mm

FINISHING & PLASTERING

After fixing the board, start finishing it as soon as you can to limit the risk of damage or UV degradation to the paper liner.

SNAGGING & REPAIRING MINOR DAMAGES

For minor damage and dents, check that the board core isn't shattered. If it's intact, fill the damaged area with Gyproc EasiFill 60, allow it to set, then apply a second coat if you need to. When it's dry, sand it to a finish before redecorating the area. For a damaged core, broken edges or extensive damage, repair and replacement procedures differ depending on the number of board layers and fire resistance of the system; please contact Technical Support Team for specific advice.
