Ceresit CT174 Silicate Silicone Render 1.5mm is a premium decorative thin-layer façade render designed for both internal and external applications. Combining the benefits of silicate and silicone technology, it offers excellent vapour permeability, low water absorption, and outstanding resistance to dirt and weathering thanks to Ceresit’s Double Dry Technology. The BioProtect formula also helps protect surfaces against algae, mould, and fungal growth, making it ideal for modern façade systems and exposed elevations. Suitable for use on concrete, traditional plasters, gypsum substrates, ETICS systems, and reinforced basecoat layers, CT174 provides a durable stone-like textured finish with excellent long-term appearance retention. The 25kg bucket of Ceresit CT174 1.5mm typically covers approximately 10m² based on an average consumption of 2.5kg per m².

Surface Preparation

Ceresit CT174 must be applied onto sound, dry, clean, and load-bearing substrates free from grease, dust, bitumen, or any substances which may reduce adhesion.

Suitable substrates include:

• Cement and lime-cement plasters
• Concrete surfaces
• Reinforced basecoat layers including CT80, CT85, CT87, ZU, and CT190 systems
• Gypsum substrates (internal use only)
• Chipboard, fibreboard, and plasterboard systems
• Existing strong paint coatings with good adhesion

Absorbent surfaces should first be primed with Ceresit CT17 followed by Ceresit CT16. Non-absorbent mineral substrates should be primed directly with Ceresit CT16. It is recommended to use a CT16 primer colour similar to the final render colour.

Any uneven or damaged areas should be repaired and levelled prior to application. The substrate must also be fully protected from moisture ingress before rendering begins.
