Fischer Power-Fast II Screws – Trade Buckets
Fischer Power-Fast II performance wood screws, supplied in bulk trade buckets from 275 to 800 pieces. Countersunk head, milled shank and a three-rib tip that bites first time and splits timber far less than a standard screw. One flat price across every size – from just 2p a screw.

Fischer Power-Fast II at SAIMAXX: Bulk Screws Without the Bulk Price
The Power-Fast II is Fischer's redesigned wood and chipboard screw, built around a reworked thread and tip geometry that drives faster and takes less out of the battery. SAIMAXX stocks the trade bucket sizes at both branches – the sizes that actually get used on site, in quantities that last more than a morning.

View 5.0 x 100mm"They're Blue, Not Gold" – Here's What That Actually Means
Everyone grew up on gold screws, so a silver-blue screw gets a second look. It shouldn't. Blue and gold are both zinc plated screws. The zinc is the bit that stops the rust, and it is the same zinc on both. The gold or blue tint comes from the passivation layer that goes on top of the zinc – it is a colour, not a grade.
Same protection, same job
A modern blue passivated screw gives corrosion protection on a par with a traditional yellow passivated one. For internal carpentry, flooring, joinery and framing, there is no practical difference in how long they last.
Blue is the newer spec
The old gold finish relied on hexavalent chromium, which has been restricted across Europe on environmental and health grounds. Blue passivation is the chrome VI free replacement. Gold isn't the premium version – it's the older one.
Neither is an outdoor screw
This is the bit that matters. Zinc plated screws, blue or gold, are for internal and protected work only. If it is exposed to weather – decking, fencing, cladding, anything outside – you want stainless or an externally rated coated screw. Ask us and we'll point you at the right one.
Fischer Power-Fast II Bucket Sizes Compared
Every bucket is the same price, so the piece count is what decides your cost per screw. Handy if you are pricing a first-fix job or stocking the van.

Why Trades Are Switching to Power-Fast II
Three-Rib Tip
The ribbed tip bites straight away and pre-mills as it goes, so the screw starts where you put it instead of wandering across the timber.
Less Splitting
The milled core and shank clear waste as the screw drives, which noticeably reduces splitting compared to a standard chipboard screw – useful near board ends and edges.
Easier on the Battery
A high-performance wax coating and reduced drive torque mean more screws per charge and less strain on the wrist over a long day.
Faster Thread Pitch
The increased pitch pulls the screw home in fewer turns, cutting installation time across repetitive fixing work.
Sits Flush Every Time
The countersunk head with its double cone and milling pockets pulls itself in level with the surface without tearing up the timber around it.
Works With Fischer Plugs
Rated for use in Fischer plugs such as DuoPower and UX with published load values, so there is no need to carry a separate special screw.

Are blue screws as good as gold screws?
Yes. Both are zinc plated, and the zinc is what does the protecting. Gold and blue are just different passivation finishes over the same plating. Blue is the modern chrome VI free version and gives comparable corrosion protection for internal work.
Which size do most carpenters use?
The 4.0 x 50mm bucket. It covers floorboards, joinery, carcass work, battens and sheet materials, and at 800 screws it is the cheapest per screw in the range.
Can I use them outside?
Not for exposed work. Zinc plated screws in any colour are for internal and protected applications. For decking, fencing or cladding, ask us about stainless or externally rated screws.
Why is every bucket the same price?
We price the buckets flat across the range, so the piece count changes but the price does not. The 800 piece 4.0 x 50mm bucket works out cheapest per screw at around 2p.
Do you stock other Fischer sizes?
The five bucket sizes listed above are our stocked range.
