Product Description

Hardwood faced plywood is one of the most popular plywood products used in the construction industry. As our product meets EN 636-2 & EN 314-2 standards, it is suitable for use in both dry and humid conditions making it perfect for almost every use.

This plywood is manufactured by gluing multiple layers of veneers which are bonded with the grains running against each other. This therefore makes it highly resistant to expansion or contraction along with being less likely to split when screwed or nailed.

The face is covered with a thin hardwood layer of timber for aesthetics & are suited to being painted and stained (but you will need to check the face of the sheet for minor imperfections).

Standards: EN 636-2 & EN 314-2

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • Can be used in humid or dry conditions
  • Smooth surface
  • Can be used in structural applications (9mm and above)
  • Can be directly varnished or painted

APPLICATION

  • Construction
  • Joinery
  • Furniture
  • Packaging
  • Vehicle Linings
  • Shopfitting
  • & More

Please note:
The term WBP (weather & boil proof) which referred to the plywood’s glue bond is now obsolete. The correct terminology is now plywood with an EN314-2 glue bond and EN636 service class.

Plywoods which are labelled “Marine Plywood (EN636-3)” should be understood as being manufactured of true hardwood timber species throughout – otherwise it should be questioned. Also it is not uncommon for Marine Plywoods to cost more than twice the price of this type of plywood.  This plywood product is NOT a marine plywood (to grade EN636-3) as its' core is softwood.
