APPLICATION

Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Do not breathe spray. Wear respiratory protection. This product will appear in its container as a thick coloured paste. It should be mixed well before application to ensure colourants are evenly dispersed. When using a coloured product it is advisable to ensure products are from the same batch and check for colour accuracy and consistency before application. To ensure application and colour consistency on large surfaces see below: To maintain colour consistency, panels should be completed in sequence around the building. To avoid dampness and discoloration rendering should be avoided below DPC or within 150mm of ground level.

To apply the material use a stainless steel trowel or suitable spray equipment. Depending on the grain size, use the size of the aggregate to gauge the thickness of the render when applying to the substrate i.e.: Johnstone’s Trade Stormshield Silicone Enhanced Render 1.5mm = thickness 1.5mm. Once the render is applied finish with a plastic float, working the material in small circular motions. This will create the natural random finish. Always agree an acceptable finished appearance on a sample panel with the architect or site supervisor before proceeding on a large scale. To prevent day joints, apply the finish continuously to the surfaces maintaining a wet edge at all times. On very large areas it is advisable to render to a natural break.

Note: Do not apply thicker than the aggregate size, this will significantly reduce the set time and could lead to future weathering issues

CLEANING

Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before cleaning. Clean equipment immediately after use in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Replace lid firmly. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings. Do not empty product into drains or watercourses
