DESCRIPTION

Sika Rendermix is a water resisting plasticiser for improving renders and screeds.

USES

• As a water resisting liquid admixture for sand and cement renders and screeds.
• As an aid to prevent water “bleed” from the fresh mortar. 
• As a water reducer to inhibit passage of salts for external or internal rendering and screeding. 
• As a mortar improver for pebble dashing or roughcast finishes.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Careful surface preparation is essential to achieve a good bond. Ensure substrate is clean and free of dirt, dust and grease. Remove all cracked, loose or flaking render, plaster and paint. If the surface to be bonded is porous, first pre-wet and prime with a bonding slurry. This should be applied to the prepared substrate immediately prior to the application of the render. Always work “wet on wet”.

LIMITATIONS

• Do not use in structural concrete.
• Not intended as a DPC replacement.
• Will not resist permanent hydrostatic pressure.
• For tanking applications use in conjunction with a DPM. 
• Final finish does not repel water.
• If a water repellent finish is required coat render with a suitable proprietary sealer. 
• To avoid excessive air entrainment, do not overdose or overmix.
• Do not mix with other additives in same gauging water.
• Always premix with gauging water.
• Do not add directly to the dry mix.
• It is the users responsibility to determine suitability for use. If in doubt contact technical services for advice.
